Poetry I started writing poetry seriously (but mawkishly) when I was 14. I was living in London, but wrote about Guernsey on a green typewriter I’d inherited from my great aunt. My poems first appeared in print in a small chapbook published in Leamington Spa when I was 22. I have written poetry ever since. I love the idea that you can discover something in the silence of your own room that has not yet been said.
Music Working with composer Matthew Pollard, resulted in several concerts and a CD. While Guernsey’s Chiara Beebe, has set one of my poems to music for the Guernsey Sinfonietta, and I am currently working with Helen Russell on an opera.
Theatre I write comedies that have been performed in pub theatres. Hearing people laugh at your lines is a great feeling.
I also write children’s fiction.
